Grosvenor Casinos

The Challenge

Since 2007, mkodo has enjoyed a highly successful relationship with Rank Interactive providing mobile development, hosting services, 24/7 support and product enhancements for their Mecca and Grosvenor Casino brands.

The Grosvenor team approached mkodo in 2015 to talk through ideas for a Live Casino native iOS and Android app. The Live Casino feeds would be coming from Evolution Games who also supply other operators with live content so the key challenge to differentiate the Grosvenor product from the other live Casino apps already on the market.

The Approach

The mkodo creative and tech teams undertook a review of Live Casino Apps and worked with Rank to come up with a set of distinguished features that would optimise the customer journey and help the Grosvenor App stand out. This included the following key features:

Mobile First Design

• A portrait and landscape bespoke layout to enable optimal game play for customers
• Biometric login (Face / Finger ID) for quick and easy log in on supported handsets
• Clear and simple navigation

Animations

Throughout the app we included as series of animations which help users to interact and engage including:

• Roulette wheel style menu to navigate through the games
• Casino style animations (e.g. cards being shuffled) are shown throughout the app.

Promotions

• Integrated to the Player Account Management (PAM) provided by Bede, promotions are tailored to the user allowing them to opt-in to relevant offers
• Promotions and games are handled by mkodo’s proprietary Content Management System (mCloud) and managed by the operators’ content team
• Fully responsive images defined by the device screen size

Rich Push Notifications

• Option to ‘favourite’ dealers and tables receive a push notification when they are next live
• Users can manage their favourites and preferences via the app
• The link within the rich push message will take players straight to the relevant game/table

Results

The Live Casino Grosvenor App launched in 2017 and has been hugely popular with Rank’s existing customers and also supported with new customer acquisition. The App has received rave reviews from customers and industry experts and won best Live Casino App at the recent EGR awards.
