Here’s an overview of the key tools and functionalities that are actively being used when designing operators' platforms. 

 

1. Self-Exclusion Options 

 

We offer self-exclusion tools that allow players to voluntarily block access to gambling activities if they feel their habits may be becoming problematic. Players can set self-exclusion periods of varying lengths, providing a responsible way to manage their engagement. 

 

2. Spending Limits and Budget Control 

 

Players can set daily, weekly, or monthly spending limits as part of the onboarding process and adjust them anytime. Players also receive prompts to set spend limits upon logging in if they haven’t yet done so. Operators can include a built-in budget calculator helping players determine affordable gambling limits, along with a self-assessment to evaluate their gambling habits. 

 

3. Time and Session Limits 

 

Session time limits allow players to manage the length of their gaming sessions, one app we built limits range from 60 minutes to a maximum of 4 hours and this can vary depending on operator. In-game notifications remind players of session durations, prompting them to take breaks for a better gaming balance. 

 

4. Blacklisting and Account Locking 

 

Our blacklisting feature can restrict players flagged for high-risk behaviour, effectively disabling their accounts if necessary. Additionally, specific games can be locked for predetermined time frames, ranging from a few minutes to permanent restriction, supporting responsible gaming management. 

 

5. Responsible Play Pop-Ups and Reminders 

 

Our platforms include customisable pop-ups that appear based on player activity, these reminders are configurable depending on regulations. Pop up notifications currently being used to promote responsible gambling include: 

  • - Instant Win Game (IWG) Alerts: After a number of consecutive IWGs, players receive a responsible play reminder. 

- Active Play Reminders: Pop-ups appear for players who remain active for 60 minutes or reach a spending limit. 

- Deposit and Balance Warnings: Reminders trigger if a player approaches 90% of their daily spend limit multiple times in a week or month. Notifications can also be displayed if a wallet balance exceeds a certain threshold in a single transaction. 

 

6. Age Verification (IDV) 

 

To protect minors, mkodo’s applications include rigorous age verification measures (IDV) during registration to ensure only individuals of legal age access gaming services. This feature aligns with jurisdictional requirements and is crucial in preventing underage gambling. 

 

7. Geo-Location Services 

 

GeoLocs, mkodo’s dedicated geolocation technology, verifies players’ locations in real time. This ensures players are within authorised regions, blocking access for those attempting to play from outside regulated areas. This restricts access for players outside regulated areas, supporting both compliance with regional gaming laws and fraud prevention. 

 

8. In-Game Notifications and Responsible Play Warnings 

 

In-app notifications remind players of time spent gambling, alerting them when they reach certain milestones. These reminders encourage players to take breaks and make informed decisions about their time spent gaming. 

 

9. Analytics and Behaviour Monitoring 

 

mkodo provides operators with real-time analytics and behaviour monitoring tools that track player activity for potential signs of problem gambling. The data, which includes sudden spending increases or lengthy sessions, allows operators to respond proactively, including outreach if necessary. 

 

10. Built-In Compliance Checks and Secure Data Management 

 

Our apps are designed to support operators in meeting regulatory requirements through logging, reporting, and audit-ready features. In compliance with GDPR and other data regulations, all player data is securely managed and anonymised for privacy while still enabling responsible gaming monitoring. We protect player accounts by using Biometric login such as TouchID, FaceID and two factor authentication (2FA) for additional security, ensuring that accounts are used by the account holder.
